California man pleads no contest in murder of uncle

GARDEN CITY, Kan. (AP) _ A California man has pleaded no contest
to murder charges for the death of his uncle who was found in a
storage unit.

Twenty-two-year-old Vicente Rodarte of Long Beach, Calif.,
entered the plea Tuesday in the murder trial of 58-year-old
Victorino Galvez. Galvez was found dead Aug. 26 at Barr's Best
Storage in Garden City.

The autopsy report showed Galvez died of blunt force trauma to
the head.

A no contest plea is not an admission of guilt but is treated as
such for sentencing purposes. Rodarte is scheduled to be sentenced
on Jan. 14.

His brother, 23-year-old Guadalupe Rodarte, also faces
second-degree murder charges. The Rodarte brothers were staying with family in Garden City.
