Suspect in Pool Hall Slaying Ordered to Stand Trial

TOPEKA, Kan. (AP) _ A 21-year-old man has been ordered to stand
trial for a fatal shooting outside a Topeka pool hall last spring.

Timothy Abdul Kareem Shahid is charged with second-degree
murder, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and criminal
possession of a firearm based on a prior felony conviction.

At Shahid's preliminary hearing Tuesday, a witness testified
that 20-year-old Joshua Kalina of Topeka suffered at least six
gunshot wounds fired from two weapons. Shahid is accused of being
one of the shooters and the other suspect is being sought.

Kalina was killed early on April 24 in the parking lot outside
Terry's Billiards Club in Topeka, hours after he and Shahid had
been introduced.
