(13 News at 4) - Kansas Special Olympics has its athletes, but can't really let the games begin without an army of volunteers!
Nicole Malcom visited 13 News at 4 to talk about the Special Olympics' upcoming track and field event Saturday, April 26, at Shawnee Heights High School.
About 350 volunteers are needed throughout the day, from 8 am to 4:30 pm. They are needed to assist with a variety of tasks, from timing and measuring events to medals ceremonies to simply cheering on the participants. Volunteers can stay the entire day or take a shorter block of time. It's suggested volunteers be at least 12 years of age.
Anyone interested in volunteering should contact Nicole at 785-250-5627, or go online to www.ksso.org.
