TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - A new report shows Kansans are better than much of the nation when it comes to health coverage.
The report from the Kansas Health Institute shows 365,000 Kansans, or 13.1 percent, are uninsured. That beats the national average of 16 percent.
Johnson County had the lowest rate of people under age 65 uninsured at 10.6 percent. Hamilton County is highest at 27.8 percent. In Shawnee County, 15.3 percent of people are uninsured.
Employment-based insurance continues to be the most common source of coverage for Kansans.
