Topeka (WIBW) - A Topeka biker is on his annual trek to help out a cancer patient and raise awareness for cancer screening.
Eric Nordgren rides a 250-mile route through northeast Kansas that, when mapped out, resembles the shape of a heart. Nordgren took off Wednesday from Rees Fruit Farm.
This year, he's riding for two-year old Adellynne VanCleave of Topeka. The little girl has a serious kidney cancer. The VanCleave's will have around $20,000 in unpaid medical expenses and Nordgren hopes his ride can help alleviate some of the burden.
People can donate to the cause for the next two and a half weeks. Pledges may be emailed to email@example.com.
