Topeka (WIBW) - A Topeka nurse specializing in vascular disease has earned a special recognition.
Nancy Kathrens, RN at the Cotton-O’Neil Heart Center has successfully completed the Cardiac Vascular Nursing exam to become accredited by the American Nurses Credentialing Center.
Kathrens joined the Heart Center in 2000 and has been the Cotton O'Neil Peripheral Arterial Disease Clinic Nurse since 2007, where she works with patients diagnosed with vascular disease.
She is a member of the Society of Vascular Nursing and the Preventative Cardiovascular Nurse Association.
The opportunity to provide the best patient care and improve upon her knowledge of vascular disease was the driving force that led Kathrens to complete the board certification process.
