This week's Wednesday's Child is 14-year old Cara. She's a typical teen girl who likes shopping, swimming, and listening to music.
What's not typical, though, is her family life. Cara's up for adoption now because her mother gave up her parental rights. It's hard for Cara to deal with, but she knows a forever family could help fill the void.
Cara wants to become a pediatrician when she grows up. She says she likes children and wants to help them in any way she can. She describes herself as loving, caring, and a good babysitter. She also says she helps with house chores and takes a lot of responsibility.
If you'd more information about Cara or any of the other children in need of adoption or foster care, call Lutheran Social Service at the Wendy's Wonderful Kids Hotline. The telephone number is 877-577-5009. You can also log onto their website at lss-ksok.org.
