WASHINGTON, TOPEKA -- Secretary of Health and Human Services Kathleen Sebelius and her department announced a new website, www.flu.gov, to help you find the facts about the rise influenza cases this fall.
The site also contains an H1N1 self-evaluation guide for adults 18 and older. It identifies the symptoms to watch for, and how to prevent spreading the flu. It has a section that'll help you separate the facts from the fiction on the flu. But HHS reminds you going through the entire website, www.flu.gov, is not a substitute for visiting your doctor to have your symptoms checked.
Here at home, City spokesman David Bevens announced the city's official site, www.topeka.org, is getting a makeover. Bevens calls the site "less oriented toward government, and more oriented to Topekans."
Bevens says the changes were developed in house, which means the city saved money. You can see the end result at www.topeka.org.
