Top 25 Worst Cities for Allergies

The Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America's list of the worst allergy cities would make David Letterman proud. It goes all the way through the Top 25. The allergy experts say a combination of climate changes and weather patterns in many parts of the country caused trees that would normally bloom over the course of a month.. to pollinate all at once.

Lexington, Kentucky has the dubious honor of being the worst American city for allergy sufferers. Coming in a close second and third in the survey are Greensboro, North Carolina and Johnson City, Tennessee. They're followed by more Southern locations.. Augusta, Georgia; Jackson, Mississippi, then Knoxville, Tennessee at #6.

The Asthma and Allergy Foundation based its results on three factors: pollen counts, medication usage by allergy patients.. and the number of board-certified allergists per patient.
