Butler, MO (KCTV) - A brother and sister were shot and killed and young girl injured before the suspect turned the gun on himself.
The scene unfolded just after 4:30 am Friday at a home in Butler, Missouri, just south of Kansas City.
Officers arrived and found 25-year-old Carl Thomas dead in the street and 29-year-old Latonya Cooper shot inside of a house.
Police say Latonya's six- and seven- year old daughters were inside the house when the shooting happened. The older girl suffered facial wounds from bullet fragments.
The suspected shooter, 26-year-old DeCarlos Newsom, fled and was later found dead in his pickup of an apparent self-inflicted gun shot wound.
