Governor Mark Parkinson is offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of criminals in an unsolved murder.

“This horrific crime happened in broad daylight near a busy area of town, so we’re hoping someone has information,” Parkinson said. “Beverly’s family deserves answers and Salina residents deserve a safer community. If someone has information, we encourage them to come forward and help put Beverly’s murderer behind bars.”

On January 12, 2008, Salina Police Department officers went to Beverly Logan’s residence to find her front door ajar and Ms. Logan deceased in her kitchen. Investigating officers reported that it was apparent she had been brutally attacked and believed the homicide occurred around noon, in broad daylight. Ms. Logan's residence was located adjacent to a heavily patronized convenience store on a major arterial street.

Kansas law provides for the Governor to offer a reward of five thousand dollars ($5,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of any criminal or perpetrators) whenever any heinous crime has been committed in the state. Governor Parkinson issued Executive Order 09-10 pursuant to the Kansas statute for the homicide of Beverly Logan.

The Salina Police Department is encouraging anyone with information regarding this incident to please call 785-826-7210 or the TIPS Hotline at 785-825-TIPS (8477).
