Douglas County (KCTV) - The arrests of two Douglas County men on suspicion of cockfighting will be the first to test a new state law that makes cockfighting a felony.
Authorities moved in on the property south of Eudora Tuesday. Investigators say they'd watched the two-acre property for months.
They say they found 169 birds. They say the roosters were housed in plastic barrels while they were trained to fight.
Douglas County prosecutors charged 44-year old Ezequiel Olivas with three counts of felony cockfighting and one count possession of cockfighting paraphernalia.
A second man was arrested and could face similar charges.

James are you mad because one of the "chickens" was yours? Maybe you need to be arrested along with the other two idiots! And yes, go back and take advantage of that elementary education you missed out on. LOL
James, your an idiot. Its animal cruelty and it IS a felony.
James, I think you meant "they're". It appears you didn't take advantage of the tax payer funding for an elementary education.
