TOPEKA - It will be around two weeks before the decision on the Judd hearing will be known. Judge Nancy Parrish said Thursday's hearing to determine whether or not to drop the charges against Jason Judd deserves a written decision.
The hearing lasted nine hours on Thursday. Special Prosecutor, Cindi Carle, urged Judge Parrish to drop the charges because she believes Judd was acting in self-defense. The attorney for the two men who were shot, Pedro Irigonegaray, told the court that self-defense is not an excuse because Jason Judd was asked to leave by the Llamas brothers. Carle argues that Judd was never asked specifically to leave.
Additional details were revealed about the night in question including that the officers had been drinking at a Fraternal Order Of Police party and then at Tailgaters before arriving at Officer Travis Jepson's home. Officer Chris Bowers left the Jepson's home and walked down the street to the Llamas brothers home where he had a cigar with them on the porch. Jepson and Judd went to get him.
