Topeka (WIBW) - A Topeka woman will stand trial on charges of having unlawful sexual relations with an inmate while she was in jail in Shawnee County.

33-year-old Brenda Jo Hitt was bound over on two counts at her preliminary hearing Wednesday.

The crimes allegedly happened September 9th and 15th of last year at the Shawnee County Department of Corrections in Topeka.

A pre-trial hearing is set for August 28th.

The woman sex in jail was while she was on the clock working.

What's the big deal if it was consensual sex? I think it's bullcrap when they make something illegal to inmates that is legal on the outside. Like sex.
