OLATHE, Kan. (AP) _ The father of a Johnson County teen who died after a fistfight will be tried on charges that he threatened nine people connected to the case.

Forty-one-year-old Frank DeRemus pleaded not guilty to nine counts of felony criminal threat Monday and was scheduled for trial Aug. 11. His son Dakota DeRemus of Gardner collapsed during the so-called "fun fight'' in February and died.

The other teen pleaded no contest to aggravated battery.

Among those DeRemus is accused of threatening is Dustin Howard, the 16-year-old boy his son was fighting with. DeRemus is also charged with threatening District Judge Gerald Elliott, who involved in the case.
