A Topeka woman has been arrested after two women reported an attempted robbery in their home.
27-year-old Crystal Brown was found by police in an abandoned vehicle after the incident about 6:30 Saturday morning, according to Topeka Police Spokeswoman Kristi Pankratz.
Pankratz says Brown matched the description given of the woman that knocked on the door of a house in the 1700 Block of SE Quincy.
The two women inside - a 43-year-old and a 63-year-old - reportedly let her in to use their phone. Once inside, police report the suspect tried to grab their purses. One of the woman was able to hit a panic alarm.
The suspect also reportedly tried to stab the elder victim and then fled the scene on foot with no property.
Police located Brown later in a vacant lot in the 1400 block of SE Madison.
Pankratz says Brown was arrested and booked on charges of aggravated robbery, aggravated burglary and battery.
Topeka Police say they are looking at other similar cases recently to see if there is a connection.
