Law enforcement agencies are warning taxpayers not to fall into a scam over their economic stimulus rebate check.

The FBI says it's received reports of a spam email that appears to be from the IRS. It tells recipients that direct deposit is the quickest way to get their rebate. It goes on to includes a link where the person is to fill out personal information, like their bank account.

The IRS says it's a scam. The agency will not initiate communication via email.
