HAYSVILLE, Kan. (AP) _ Dr. Stephen Schneider is back at his Haysville, Kan., home.

He was released from the Butler County Jail at about 7 a.m. Friday after a federal judge in Wichita approved terms of his release pending his trial next February.

Schneider will be under house arrest and must not contact any of his former patients before the trial. If he violates his release agreement, he will forfeit $2 million in assets as well as a $325,000 bond.

His wife, Linda Schneider, remains jailed pending the outcome of a psychological examination.

Four months ago the Schneiders were arrested on 34 counts of running a "pill mill'' linked to 56 deaths. Magistrate Judge Donald Bostwick on Thursday ordered that the doctor be released on bond.
