A friend of Justin Thurber, the man charged with kidnapping and killing a Cowley County College student, says the suspect sought his assistance in setting up a alibi. The testimony from Chris Davis came during an evidence hearing in Cowley County District Court.
Thurber is set to go on trial June 24th.
Thurber is charged with capital murder, rape, kidnapping and aggravated criminal sodomy in the January 2007 death of Jodi Sanderholm. Davis testified Thurber's relatives delivered a letter with a sample statement for him to rewrite and sign, saying Thurber was with him on the day Sanderholm went missing. Davis said he refused.
