Washburn and Emporia State split the Turnpike Tussle

EMPORIA, Kan. (WIBW) -- On Senior Night, the Emporia State Hornet men's basketball team beat Washburn 68-66 in the Turnpike Tussle. Emporia State snapped a nine-game losing streak.

ESU senior Stephaun Limuel hit two free-throws in the final seconds of the game to give ESU the win.

Shell Grant led the way with 16 points for the Hornets. Cameron Wiggins scored 16 points in the loss.

The Washburn women's basketball team beat Emporia State 74-59, which snapped a 12-game losing streak in the Turnpike Tussle.

Alexis McAfee led the way with 22 points in the win.

This is Washburn's first win at White Auditorium since February 12th, 2012.
