Royals make Moustakas signing official

SURPRISE, Ariz. (WIBW) -- The Kansas City Royals have officially signed Mike Moustakas to a one-year deal, the team announced Saturday.

Moustakas will be paid $6.5 million, according to multiple reports.

The contract has a mutual option for the 2019 season. He would make $15 million that season, according to multiple reports.

Moustakas, 29, hit a career-high 38 home runs in 2017, setting the single-season franchise record.
