Royals announce 2018 regular season schedule

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (WIBW) -- Start planning now, Opening Day for the 2018 Major League Baseball season is six months away.

The Kansas City Royals will open the 2018 season on Thursday, March 29 at Kauffman Stadium against the Chicago White Sox, the team announced Tuesday morning.

The season starts earlier than normal because Major League Baseball has added four more off days to the schedule in 2018.

Kansas City will play St. Louis in the I-70 Series from May 21-23 (in St. Louis) and from August 10-12 (in Kansas City).

The All-Star Break will be July 16-19 with the All-Star Game played the 17th in Washington, D.C.
