TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) -- On Sunday, former Washburn and Washburn Rural standout Ben Moser won the TGA City Match Play Championship for a third consecutive time. He joins Steve Gomez as the only other golfer to achieve that feat when Gomez did almost 30 years ago.

Moser defeated Justice Valdivia 3-and-2 in the final match after birdying three clutch holes on the back nine of Cypress Ridge Golf Course, including No. 16 to seal the deal.

Sunday was Valdivia's first trip to the tournament finals.

In the President's Flight final, Michael Maki defeated Patrick Golden, 6-and-5.
