Empty seats fill stadium as Jayhawks prepare for Sweet Sixteen.

OMAHA, Neb. (WIBW) - There were empty seats everywhere at the CenturyLink Center on Thursday during Kansas' practice. It's not because fans didn't show, but because of a rule change the NCAA made this year.

Fans can no longer attend practices before the Sweet Sixteen and Elite Eight match-ups.

Some fans were confused, but Kansas basketball coach Bill Self calls it a good change.

"I thought this was a good move by the NCAA committee to do this because it makes for a long weekend." Self said, "You’re not going to show anything during open practice because it can be scouted."

If the Jayhawks make it to the Final Four fans would again be allowed to watch the team practice.
