Your Letters: Walking through live wires by Susan Sullivan-Etzel

(SUBMITTED) - (I) was working at Sears in White Lakes, we all ran to basement in the mall. Afterward, I was so worried about my parents who lived at 16th and Webster, one block from the tornadoes path after going through Washburn University.

I drove home, but had to leave my car at 21st and Lincoln and walk home in complete dark with power lines dangling down on the streets. (I) made it over to 15th and Mulvane where a friend lived who loaned me a flashlight (and) had near encounters with downed electrical lines.

(I) finally got home, mom and dad ok and no damage to our house!

Whew what a close encounter
