WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) -- Police are investigating a rape that occurred at The Flats apartments on Wichita State University's campus last month.

According to the university's online police log, the rape happened around 10 p.m. on Dec. 2, 2017. A report was made to police on Dec. 8, 2017.

The report states a resident of The Flats reported being sexually assaulted by a non-student.

The university newspaper, The Sunflower, states university police know who the suspect is but no arrest has been made. Police say the suspect does not live or work in the Wichita area.

The paper says the case will be presented to the Sedgwick County District Attorney's Office to determine whether charges will be filed.

This is the second sex crime to occur at The Flats since it opened in August 2017.

On Sept. 1, 2017, someone reported a case of sexual battery that happened on Aug. 31. The report was described as "unwanted physical attention from a male."
