Water emergency remains in effect for Neodesha

Residents in Neodesha are still being told not to drink their water, but other towns downstream have been given the all clear.

Officials worried that contaminated water used to fight Tuesday's fire at the Airosol, Inc. plant drained into the city's main water sources, the Fall and Verdigris rivers.

Several communities downstream also warned their residents not to drink water from their tap over the same concerns.

However, early this morning, the City of Indepenence lifted their water emergency saying tests completed by KDHE came back free of anything harmful.

Neodesha officials say it could still be several days before the water system there is safe to use.
