Washburn Rural and Hayden win state golf titles

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) -- The Washburn Rural girls golf team took home the 6A state golf title, and the Hayden Wildcats won the 4A title Monday afternoon.

Washburn Rural shot a 327, beating Shawnee Mission East by eight strokes.

Senior Abby Glynn finished +3, good enough for 2nd place. Megan Lucas and Adyson Crough tied for 9th at +11.

Hayden's Caroline Setter won the 4A individual title, shooting +5. Junior Katye Vausbinder finished 7th at +15, and senior Samantha Blenden tied for 9th.

Hayden shot a 346 to beat Andale by 6.
