1 of 2 victims identified in southwest Wichita shooting

WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) -- KWCH News has learned the name of one of the victims from Saturday's deadly shooting in southwest Wichita.

Police found two 20-year-old men with gunshot wounds in front of a home on the ground in front of a residence in the 1500 block of west Merton. Those men died later at a hospital.

Family members of 20-year-old Jeremy Burdine confirmed he died in a shooting.

Neighbors who were outside during the shooting say they saw the two victims before the incident.

They weren't sure whether they heard gunshots or fireworks but then saw the first responders come and load the victims into ambulances.

Other neighbors say they've seen officers respond to the home several times in the last few months.

Police say this shooting is not random and that an 18-year-old was arrested on separate charges.
