Marshals, police searching for convicted felon in central Topeka

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) -- Authorities are searching for a convicted felon who is currently wanted on three felony warrants.

According to the U.S. Marshal's Office, they are searching for Pedro Delreal, Jr., he is wanted in Shawnee Co. on counts of Violating Violent Offender Registration, Obstruction of a Law Enforcement Officer, and Possession of Narcotics.

They say he is considered dangerous. He had been convicted in 2007 of attempted assault on a law enforcement officer.

Authorities say the U.S. Marshal's Task Force was trying to take Delreal into custody when he took off from a home near SE 18th St. and SE Madison St., running toward a nearby wooded area.

The Shawnee Co. Sheriff's Office, Topeka police, and the Kansas Highway Patrol assisted in the search.

Their investigation is ongoing.
