KANSAS CITY, Mo. (WIBW) — The Blue Angels are coming back!

Fans of the U.S. Navy's popular aerial stunt team should expect an especially patriotic show when they return in 2019 for the 4th of July holiday week, organizers tell KCTV5.

The Blue Angels have performed over KC skies since 2015.

Their return will highlight the relaunch of Kansas City's long-popular airshow, which is coming back with a new production and management team. Organizers said Kansas City was one of over 200 applicants vying for a slot on the Blue Angels 2019 schedule.

More details about the air show are expected at a later date.
