TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) -- After 10 years as the Hayden High School boys basketball coach Ted Schuler will no longer be on the sidelines for the Wildcats.

On Friday Hayden said they asked Schuler to resign as the varsity boys basketball coach.

"We would like to thank Coach Schuler for his service and wish him well in future endeavors," said the high school in a statement.

The Wildcats finished last season in third place in the Class 4A Division II state tournament. Schuler also led the Wildcats to the 4A state championship in 2008.

Hayden High School will begin the search process for a new coach immediately.
