HOLTON, Kan. (WIBW) -- The Jackson Co. Sheriff's Office arrested the suspect in a string of burglaries plaguing the county.

Sheriff Tim Morse said his deputies and members of the Holton Police Dept. arrested Curt VandeveldeTuesday. He said the St. Mary's man was trying to sell stolen property at the time.

Vandevelde, 45, is currently being held at the Jackson Co. jail on $50,000 bond. He was arrested on theft and burglary charges, however more charges are expected, Morse said.

The Sheriff's Office recovered items investigators believe were stolen from several Jackson Co. homes. Morse said they were found in a stolen vehicle Vandevelde was driving.
