Suspect in custody after Topeka liquor store attempted robbery

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) -- Topeka Police are investigating an attempted robbery at a Topeka liquor store Sunday evening.

Around 6:30 p.m. officers were called to Topeka Club Liquor at 1401 SW Wanamaker Road.

Watch Commander says they have one male suspect in custody.

He says a man walked into the store, took items and attempted to walk out. When the store owners confronted him, he threatened to have a handgun and walked out.

The suspect is going to jail for unrelated warrants for his arrest.
