TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) — The suspect in the Tuesday night robbery of a convenience store just north of Topeka has been arrested.

The Shawnee Co. Sheriff's Office says Mason J. Wages was booked Thursday for a single count of robbery.

On Wednesday, investigators had released surveillance photos from the incident.

According to the Sheriff's Office, deputies responded around 8:45 p.m. Tuesday to reports of a robbery at the Viking BP, in the 4700 block of NW Hunters Ridge. The suspect reportedly entered the store and demanded money.

Investigators say the 21 year-old Topeka man didn't display a weapon during the robbery. Afterwards, the robber took off, heading northeast. A K-9 officer searched the area but lost the trail in the Hunters Ridge Apartment Complex parking lot.

Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 785-234-0007.
