TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - You have the chance to get exercise Saturday morning, all while supporting veterans and the Children's Miracle Network.

Miss Capitol City, Hannah Mauler, along with the VA Eastern Kansas Health Care System, is hosting a 5 Kilometer run and walk in support of the Topeka VA and Children's Miracle Network. The run or walk will take place Saturday, May 20th at 9 a.m. with registration beginning at 8 a.m. at the Colmery-O'Neil VA Medical Center, 2200 SW Gage Blvd.

The theme of the event is patriotic, so they encourage anyone participating to wear red, white and blue attire in support.

The event is open to community members of all ages, including veterans, Veteran Service Organizations and community groups. The cost of the event is a donation of any amount, but donations of $30 or more will result in a t-shirt.

All proceeds from the event will be donated equally between the Children's Miracle Network and the VA Eastern Kansas Healthcare System's Voluntary Service Department.
