Severance defends NHRA Kansas Nationals title

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) -- Joey Severance, the reigning NHRA Lucas Oil Top Alcohol Dragster World Champion, defended his Kansas Nationals title over the weekend.

Severance had a 5.327 second pass at 270.27 mph for his 12th career national event win.

Jeff Jones won his first NHRA national event in the Top Alcohol Funny Car class.

Trista Fenner (Stock Car), Bruce Johnson (Super Gas), and Scott Javers (Top Sportsman) also earned their first national event wins.
