School bus causes Riley Co. semi rollover

MANHATTAN, Kan. (WIBW) A Belvue man is recovering after a school bus caused him to roll his big rig in Riley Co. Monday afternoon.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, the crash happened just before 3:00 p.m. at the intersection of U-24 and Walters Drive.

Officials say a 2000 Peterbilt Tractor-trailer, driven by Delbert Henson, 45, of Belvue, was heading north on U-24 when a school bus entered the intersection, failing to yield.

KHP says the bus was driven by Laura Kumle, 36, of Manhattan.

Officials says Henson tried to avoid the bus by swerving into the ditch. The big rig rolled on its side in an attempt to get back on the road.

Henson was taken to the hospital with undisclosed injuries. Kumle was not injured.
