KANSAS CITY, MO (KCTV) - The Kansas City Royals and first-round draft pick Brady Singer have agreed to a contract, KCTV5 reports.
Singer, the 18th overall pick in the 2018 draft, will reportedly receive $4.25 million from the Royals - nearly $1 million above the draft slot value, according to a report from MLB.com.
The club has not confirmed the specifics of the deal.
“I’m so excited about this organization," Singer said. "I want to lead this pitching staff to another World Series.”
During the regular season, Singer was 11-1 with a 2.27 ERA. Opposing batters hit .188 off of him during the regular season.
He was listed as a Top 5 prospect by Baseball America. Singer was also Baseball America's 2018 National Player of the Year.
The Royals have now signed 32 of their 43 selections from the 2018 MLB Draft.
