TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - The Riley County Police Department wants to hear public opinion on the search for the next leader of their department.

RCPD will be hosting monthly meetings as they search for their next director after current director Brad Schoen announced he will retire in December.

The first meeting will be held Thursday, July 12th, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Manhattan Fire Dept. Headquarters, 2000 Denison Ave. A second meeting will be held Friday, July 13th, also from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., at Leonardville Community Center, 118 Erpelding St.

The goal of the meetings is for members of the community to tell RCPD what they hope to see in a director.
