Possible suspect in Wabaunsee Co. burglaries arrested

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) The Kansas Highway Patrol says a man possibly connected to a string of burglaries in Wabaunsee County is in custody.

Just before 8 a.m. Wednesday, authorities say a vehicle that matched the description of a pickup truck connected to recent burglaries in Wabaunsee County was spotted in the parking lot of the Kwik Shop at 746 NE Wabash Avenue.

KHP tells 13 NEWS the truck's three occupants, one male, and two females fled the area on foot.

As of 8:30 a.m., officials say the male suspect was in police custody. He was captured by a creek close to the convience store. His name has not been released.

He was transported to a local hospital, however, details have not been provided as to why.

The search continues for the two females.
