TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - The Topeka area could soon have a new option for your wedding or other special event.

Shawnee Co. Commissioners approved a permit for the 76-acre Hidden Hills Farm. As 13 NEWS reported Wednesday, Angela and R.J. Dake want to turn their land at 73rd and Indian Hills Road into an outdoor reception, conference and assembly venue.

The Dake's are retired teachers, so they also want to create a cultural and learning center, including a monarch butterfly exhibit, to allow classrooms to visit and learn.

"Our primary focus is to keep the farm as a farm space and to invite people in to enjoy the beauty of farming and agriculture life," Angela Dake said.

All three Commissioners wished the Dake's luck with their project.
