OSAGE CITY, Kan. (WIBW) -- A stretch of US-56, east of Overbrook, was shut down Wednesday afternoon after a overturned semi blocked both lanes of traffic.

The Osage Co. Sheriff's Office says the highway was closed around 4 p.m. between Stubbs and Stanley Roads. At the time, they said traffic would be blocked off for about an hour.

Authorities are asking drivers to find alternative routes around the area.

The Sheriff's Office did not say if any other vehicles were involved in the crash, nor did they say if anyone was injured.
