Motorcyclist dies after Saturday crash with FedEx truck

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) -- Funeral arrangements are set for the 28-year-old Berryton man killed when his motorcycle collided with a Federal Express truck on Saturday.

The Shawnee Co. Sheriff's Office identified him as Anthony "A.J." Forshee. According to his obituary, Forshee was born in Topeka and graduated in 2008 from Shawnee Heights High School.

Funeral services for Forshee are set for 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 19, 2008, at Wanamaker Woods Church of the Nazarene. His family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Memorial contribution may be made to Helping Hands Humane Society or Midwest Transplant Network.

The crash happened around 1:30 p.m. near SE 35th Street and SE Croco Road. Authorities say the FedEx truck was traveling north on Croco. The driver turned onto 35th Street and hit the southbound motorcycle.

The Shawnee County Sheriff’s Office, Shawnee Heights Fire Department and AMR responded to the scene. The investigation into the wreck remains under investigation.

The driver of the Fed Ex truck was not hurt, authorities said.
