MANHATTAN, Kan. (WIBW) -- The Manhattan house fire that injured one person Wednesday afternoon was intentionally set, fire investigators said.

Two people were inside the house, at 2501 Meadowood Drive, when the fire broke out. One of them made it out safely, while the injured person was taken to a Manhattan hospital. Neither of the individuals were identified.

The fire department says the blaze started in the basement of the one-story home and it took firefighters about 20 minutes to put out the flames.

Investigators estimated the damages caused at $35,000.
