MANHATTAN, Kan. (WIBW) -- After allegations of improperly allocating student aid money, all Marinello School of Beauty locations closed its doors.
But, thanks to Bellus Academy, students at Manhattan’s Marinello School of Beauty don’t have to put their dreams on hold.
“Bellus Academy is committed to every one of you. We want to make sure that you see through what you started here at Marinello," said Bellus Academy director David Yocum. "We can get you transferred over and get you going to where you want to go.”
While the closing of all 56 Marinello Schools has displaced 4,300 students nationwide, Bellus is giving all 40 Marinello students a place to continue their education.
“We’re able to look at their transcripts and apply that to our curriculum and they’ll be able to plug in. We’ll be able to finish their training for them and get them licensed and working,” said Yocum.
Manhattan Marinello’s closing brought its director Diana Bruce to tears.
“It is most than just a school and a place of learning. It becomes a part of who you are. This school has affected so many lives for so many lives for so many decades and were so incredibly proud of that,” said Bruce.
