TOPEKA (WIBW)- Authorities say a man is dead after a shooting at a west Topeka motel late Thursday night.

Topeka Police say they responded to a call about shots fired at the Best Western, 700 SW Fairlawn, around 11:30 p.m.

When they arrived, they found 31-year old Jesse McFall with multiple gunshot wounds. He was taken to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead around 12:25 a.m. Friday.

On Saturday morning, Topeka Police say 18-year old Logan Lee Bartley was booked into the Shawnee County Jail. He's charged with a count of first-degree murder and a count of aggravated robbery.

Police say the shooting stemmed from an argument between McFall and Bartley.

This makes for the city of Topeka's second homicide of 2018.
