Suspect identified in Topeka shooting that left man in critical condition

TOPEKA (WIBW)- A man is in critical condition Thursday morning after an argument led to a shooting.

Topeka Police say they were called to a home near SW 36th and Jewell just before 2 a.m.

Authorities say a man and Sierra Simone Smith, 19, had gotten into an argument, and during said argument the man was shot.

Smith was taken into custody and transported to the Law Enforcement Center for questioning. Several children were also taken there for safety, and to ask some questions.

Smith was arrested and booked into the Shawnee County jail on aggravated battery.
