TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW)-- It will be a night to remember for many people Friday night, thanks to the Tim Tebow Foundation sponsored 'A Night to Shine' prom event.
Grace Community Church in Topeka will be hosting the event locally for over a hundred people with special needs. Volunteers will be on hand during the event to provide services including hair and makeup to attendees. Prom guests will also have a photo booth, buffet, limousine rides, and paparazzi greeting them at the entrance.
Grace Community Church pastor Louie Constantino says the event registration had an overwhelmingly great response. Constantino is asking those not registered for the event to hold out until next year.
"We have had so many people sign up, we can no longer permit additional registrations," he said. "Hopefully there will be more space if we hold the event next year."
Constantino hopes the event will make a difference in the community.
"Sometimes, here at the church, we feel that there is not a lot of pride in Topeka, so we thought we would just do something that would really be for Topeka."
