TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - Kansas Secretary of State Kris Kobach, R-Kan., has officially filed to run for Governor.
Kobach and his running mate, Wichita businessman, Wink Hartman filed the needed paperwork and paid the filing fee.
Before they signed the paperwork, Kobach announced he would try to reduce property taxes for Kansans if elected. He said Kansans are some of the highest taxed American’s.
Kobach is one of many candidate who waited to file officially.
Filing deadline is June 1st at noon.
When it comes to the Governor’s race, at one point there were twelve republicans who announced their intent to run, and eight democrats.
So far, each side has three candidates officially filing.
